Change of Statlook Web’s address

After the release of statlook 12.0.0, Statlook Web became an inseparable part of uplook server. It is installed automatically, and its configuration demand no part from the user. Sometimes, though, it apparently needs manual reconfiguration.

A change of statlook web’s address might be necessary in case if a computer which is directed to by plentiful of DNS aliases happens to choose the server that does not compute with our expectations.

In such a case, on a computer that supports uplook server you need to find a following branch in a registry editor:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\A plus C Systems\uplook\Server

If within the branch’s key there is no HostName value, the sever will use a default value, being a fully-qualified domain name (FQDN). To configure another name for Statlook Web, you need to create a new String sequence named HostName, and in Data field enter the name of DNS, which will be used to cooperate with the Web platform. To put the changes into motion, you need to restart uplook server.
